We are very happy to share with everybody the replay of the public meeting that was organised by our association with the great help of Ahmadou Diallo from Airbus Africa Community, with representatives of both french and english speaking networks of fablabs, makerspaces, and places of making.
Remember we had the luck to have together Internet of Production Alliance, Make Eu, ReFFAO, ReFAMAC (central africa fablabs and makerspaces network), sharing visions, goals, but also lessons to learn from the previous projects.
That means more than 300 places of making in Africa, in a polycrisis context, acting on the field and also using commons, open hardware and cooperative platforms to find solutions. Not only « MIT » fablabs, but also incubators, humanitarian initiatives, research and development communities, open science volunteers, and local communities places.
We invite you to discover this first inter-network video, and to the next events that are going to push further the opportunities to launch great cooperative projects at the continental scale : Afrilabs meeting in Cotonou, and Make Africa 2026 in Dakar.
If you can, don’t miss these events because Africa is perhaps going to show the way to build projects that are not enclosed in exclusivity nor borders, to solve global challenges, like Sustainable Development Goals !
